Hawthorn jelly

Hawthorn jelly is a healthy and tasty treat that consists entirely of natural ingredients. Thanks to the short-term heat treatment, the berries retain their beneficial properties, and the jelly retains its rich, bright color.

We wash the hawthorn fruits in a colander under running water and let the excess water drain.

Then put the hawthorn in a heavy-bottomed saucepan and add a glass of water. Bring the berries to a boil and steam for 3-4 minutes.

We discard the hawthorn berries in a colander and rub the berries with a wooden spoon to make a puree.

Next, put the puree in cheesecloth, rolled into 3-4 layers and squeeze the juice.

Pour the juice into a saucepan and add sugar in a 1: 1 ratio to the amount of juice. Bring the juice to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly, and boil for 10 minutes. The consistency of the syrup should become jelly-like.

Pour the syrup hot into sterilized glass jars and tighten the lids. The workpiece should cool slowly, so we wrap the jars in a terry towel and leave to cool completely, after which we put them in the refrigerator.
