Red currant jelly through a meat grinder

Redcurrant jelly can be made without using gelatin. All thanks to the high content of pectin, a natural gelling substance, in the composition of this berry. For jelly, you only need berries and sugar.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 3
Sort out the currant berries, wash and discard in a colander so that the liquid is glass. Transfer the berries to a heavy-bottomed saucepan and simmer without adding water over low heat until the berries are tender. Then cool them down and pass them through a meat grinder using a special attachment. If you do not have a nozzle, then pass the berries through a meat grinder and then squeeze the juice out of them using cheesecloth.
step 2 out of 3
Pour red currant juice into a saucepan, add sugar, put on medium heat and bring to a boil, cook for 10 minutes.
step 3 out of 3
Pour the jam into sterilized jars, roll them up and leave to cool. You can store jelly both in the refrigerator and simply in a cabinet in the kitchen.

Bon Appetit!
