Pure red currant jelly

Red currant jelly has a sweet and sour taste and is aromatic. Its preparation will not take much time, no complicated manipulations will be required. Following the steps described in the recipe, both an experienced chef and a novice housewife will cope with the preparation of jelly.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 6
Fresh red currants must be washed. If the berries were picked with twigs, then it is not necessary to remove them. We send the washed berries to a container in which the jelly will be cooked later.
step 2 out of 6
Pour granulated sugar into a container with red currants. We mix everything.
step 3 out of 6
Leave the berries with sugar for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. During this period of time, the granulated sugar will become moist thanks to the juice of the berries.
step 4 out of 6
Next, put the container with red currants and sugar on high heat and boil for 8 minutes, stirring constantly. As a result, the berries will begin to burst, and the jam itself will bubble.
step 5 out of 6
After cooking for the specified time, remove the berries from the heat, transfer everything to a colander and wipe. Branches with berry residues will linger in the colander, which is why there is no need to remove them at the very beginning.
step 6 out of 6
After rubbing through a colander, the result is berry jelly. As it cools, it will begin to thicken. We distribute the jelly from mashed red currants in pre-prepared jars. We close them with lids only after the jelly has completely cooled. In terms of time, this process will take at least 4 hours. You can leave the jars open overnight and finish rolling the jelly in the morning.
